How to use

Compare the thumbnails
Once the video loads, 16 thumbnails appear, each labelled with the timestamp it was taken from.
Save a single frame
Click a thumbnail to download that one frame as a JPEG at the source resolution.
Scope of the result
The 16 sampling points are fixed at even intervals from the start of the video. Only formats your browser can play are supported — files it cannot play, such as MKV or ProRes, will not load.
Frequently asked questions
- Are my videos uploaded to a server?
- No. All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your video data is never sent to any server.
- What resolution are the thumbnails?
- They are written out at the same resolution as the source video. The scaling you see in the grid is display only.
- How is this different from the sprite sheet tool?
- The sprite sheet tool packs 144 frames into one image. This one pulls 16 frames out as separate images, so a single frame is ready to use as-is.
