How to use
Choose a count and a version
Enter an integer from 1 to 1000 in Quantity, then pick v4 (random) or v7 (time-ordered) under Version.
Generate
Press Regenerate to produce that many UUIDs of the chosen version. Every press replaces the values.
Copy or export as CSV
Copy puts one UUID per line on the clipboard; Download CSV writes a CSV file with a single uuid column.
Scope of the result
One run generates between 1 and 1000 values, and only v4 and v7 are supported — not v1, v3, or v5. The v7 timestamp has millisecond resolution, so values created within the same millisecond have no guaranteed order between them. Randomness comes from the browser Crypto API, and nothing generated here is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
- Should I pick v4 or v7?
- Pick v7 for database primary keys and indexes: its leading Unix timestamp keeps values in creation order, which fragments indexes far less. Pick v4 for identifiers where the order should carry no meaning.
- Does v7 always sort in creation order?
- The timestamp has millisecond resolution. UUIDs created in different milliseconds sort in creation order, but within the same millisecond the remaining bits are random, so their order is undefined.
- Are the generated UUIDs sent anywhere?
- No. Generation and the CSV export both happen entirely inside your browser.
