How to use
Pick the images
Choose up to 40 JPEG, PNG, or WebP stills. The format is confirmed from the header, not the file name.
Set the long edge and format
Set the long edge, output format, and quality. When converting to JPEG, also pick the color that fills transparent areas.
Save
Save images one at a time, or bundle only the successful ones into a ZIP.
Scope of the result
1 to 40 images at a time; inputs up to 32 MiB each, 128 MiB total, and 32 megapixels. Output is limited to a long edge of 1 to 8,192 px, 16,777,216 pixels, and 240 MiB in total. SVG, GIF, HEIC, AVIF, and animated images are not handled. Even within these limits, device memory can still cause a failure.
Frequently asked questions
- Will the file always get smaller?
- No. Depending on the original compression, format, and quality setting it can grow. Check the converted size in the table before saving.
- What happens to a transparent image saved as JPEG?
- Transparent areas are filled with the background color, white by default. Choose PNG or WebP to keep transparency.
- Will photos from my phone come out sideways?
- The display orientation is applied while decoding, though every format and device combination is not guaranteed.
- Can animated PNG or WebP be converted?
- Images detected as animated are refused. Silently saving only the first frame is not the behavior here.
- If some images fail, do I start over?
- Successes and failures are listed separately, and the ZIP contains only the images that converted.
- Does this remove EXIF and other metadata?
- Redrawing through a canvas drops most of it, but this tool does not guarantee complete removal. Use the image metadata inspector and remover when that matters.
