How to use

1. Choose the data

   Select or drop files, or switch to text mode and enter text with the filename to use on restore. Multiple files and folders are supported.

2. Set compression and encryption

   Choose automatic compression or turn it off. Entering a password encrypts the packed data with AES-256-GCM.

3. Generate and save PNGs

   Choose Encode to PNG and save every generated PNG. Large data is split across multiple parts.

4. Restore from PNGs

   Choose every generated PNG in Restore from PNG, then enter the same password if encryption was enabled. Save restored files individually or together.

Scope of the result

There is no fixed input size limit; large inputs are split into numbered PNGs. Supports up to 2,048 files, with each PNG limited to about 50 MB and 4096×4096 pixels. Usable capacity depends on your device's memory and free storage. Processing stays in the browser, and restoration requires every PNG part. Existing PNGs remain readable, but new encrypted PNGs (E2ENC v2) cannot be restored by older tools.

Frequently asked questions

Is my data sent to a server?

No. Loading, PNG generation, and restoration happen in the browser. Neither your input nor password is sent to a server.

What kind of files can I pack?

Any binary file or text can be packed. For multiple files, the path, MIME type, and modification time are stored with the data.

Can I restore data without the password?

No. The password is never stored, and AES-256-GCM authentication failures are rejected to protect the data.

Can I use a generated PNG as a normal image?

It is a standard RGB PNG and can be opened by image viewers, but its pixels contain the packed data. Use this tool's restore tab to extract the original files.
